I like the sound of all this biking, but I couldn't wear that gear. I just couldn't.Most I'd go to is a white crew neck t-shirt, a pair of shorts like you'd wear on holiday for lunch (not dinner), and a pair of, oh I don't know, something like a pair of Adidas Dragon or TRX.And my prescription sunglasses.Maybe a grey sweatshirt if its cooler. But with the hem of the t-shirt out and the crew neck rising above the...Oh, you get the picture. And maybe a bucket hat that covers those helmet things (if at all).

A different take on the old 'Mapei' top.Yesterday was £25. Charity job and stacks of food so I can live with it. Will have a scan at the audaxs though.

Yeah Cragg Vale is easy if you want it to be. The TDF will fly up there.

That Sportive looks savage, I'd have a go, but the bike i have in Halifax the gearing is unforgiving on hills, there are a couple of hills at least that I wouldn't make it up.

When you look at Cragg Vale on Garmin it looks harsher than it is, I might have a go, I can manipulate things so I'm about that weekend.

Aldi tomorrowhttps://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-26th-september/Work tomorrow and then giving a training course. Means all the merino, base layers, socks and GT85 will have gone by the time I can get there (the rain jackets are as good as some that cost £60-70).Worth a look.

Beautiful day. Sun out but not too hot, a 'crisp' day.40 miles to get the legs going again. Rode from home to Mytholmroyd. Up Cragg Vale, stayed in a bigger gear (did I mention I only use 12-23 at the back ;) ).Took two minutes off my best. Still slow but that's two minutes quicker than I was last time and that'll do! Going in the right direction anyway. Some friendly cyclists out today. Only one 'too pro to say hello'. Full BMC kit and a snarl to match.Saw a couple of gents of more advanced years at the top of Cragg Vale coming down. Caught sight of them again about to climb Keighley Road out of Hebden Bridge. Both shifting, out of the saddle and flying up that first kick up from town. Can't have been a day under 60. One had what looked like an original Z-Peugeot top. Would love one of therm and I know Prendas are getting them back in stock but £65! I'll stick to Aldi.Down into Littleborough after the climb. Fuck me that's a descent. Road was empty so I could get all 'Le Tour' and cut some corners etc. Before the road Nazis have a pop you can see what's coming.Over through Walsden to Todmorden and then back home. Couple of those little Soreen bars mid-way. Plenty of water. Job done.Need to get out on the fat tyre job or I'll be buying fucking Rouleur next....

Good work. I had a blast Saturday morning. I was out the house by 630, and it started raining and it was dark. I thought what the hell am I doing! The side wind on the Severn Bridge was lethal, but once over the other side wasn't too bad. By 7ish it had stopped raining and the morning mist & sun was out. From then on out towards Berkeley Castle and back to the bridge and home. Lovely Cycling down there because it is flat as a pancake and nice quiet lanes and for some reason it feels like France. A good start to the weekend.
