I've been trying to cheer myself up spending insurance money I don't even have yet. Not really working.Mrs has agreed any bikes will live in the house from now on.And she says I can sell her Spesh MTB to add to the replacement kitty. Already planning how I'll secure them from now on.Cunts. Fucking, fucking cunts......

Probably little consolation, but I'm not too far from you and my Orange 5 doesn't get much use now. It's a few years old but you're more than welcome to borrow it if you're stuck and desperate to get out. You could keep hold of it (tightly) till you're sorted.

Cheers for the offer, may well take you up on that although with my luck at the moment so fucker'll have it as well!Insurance ringing back tomorrow so should get an idea how long I'll be bike-less. Spin bike sessions for me for now.Local PCSO came round today. They've got pictures that'll go to all the local teams etc and I've given them the full spec of both bikes. They check Cash Convertors and the like and I'm on gumtree etc every hour. There could be CCTV and the school are checking the footage tomorrow morning. Be nice to get them back but I'm operating on the assumption I won't. Sadly.Cunts

Thieving bastards! I hope you get your bike or similar soon. Just went out for a spin with my old pedal partner who hasn't been on the bike for a year. He can still lick it up the hills tidy, the fucker.

The last training session last night before next weekend. I did my last training ride from the last six months preparing for my mammoth task next weekend that I signed up to last year. The run out was 36miles in just over 2hours, with 32miles in 2hours (with a 3mile) climb the day before. I have spent all week buying all manor of drugs & aids to help me with the ride (caffeine tablets, ibruprofen, rehydration tablets, anti histamine tablets, aspirins, chamois cream, lip salve etc etc).I have bought an extra pad for my cycle shorts, my bike will be serviced tomorrow.I am now officially shitting it for the 280miles to Paris from that there London in 24hours (or 7 lots of 40miles). If I manage to complete this, I will be well well pleased.

Good luck UTA. Break it down like you say. Hell of a task but think how you'll feel when you do it!!!!!

Serious cyclist comes in to my shop: swears by bulletproof coffee: butter, MCT oil, coffee mixture. Not tried it but he was a hair's breadth from Olympic standard, so curious as to its effect. Anyone tried it?

Since leaving Spain my cycling efforts have slipped, some of it just missing the ideal weather for jumping on the bike and bieng a bit soft. Some of it questioning whether I want to churn out the miles or enjoy what I'm doing, the places I'm riding through, I'd be interesting how others see it but if you are pushing things on the bike the scenery just passes you by. I'm no longer sure what I want from cycling.

It gets where I'm in a dilemma, for example I get to the top of a big hill you've earned the right to enjoy the view but your head starts nagging about the time etc and you plough on, when you should take a leisurely five minutes and drink in the view. It's not right.
Foxy_Dread
I've been toying with doing regular five or six mile rides and absolutely killing myself and if I do that, I could then do leisure rides where my head is up and I enjoy the scenery.
