Doubt I could do it once.

It's the climb that inspired all the spin stuff and the sessions I'm doing. It's a bastard.

Should be able to crack that on the granny ring?
Should be able to crack that on the granny ring?
I went to Lee Quarry with the bloke that's writing the sessions for me. We watched a bloke on a Santa Cruz Superlight fly up it. I said I want to be able to climb like that. Now I'm getting coaching/plans people pay £100 a month for! Not what you know....The surface is a bastard. Loads of loose rock, very uneven and it throws your front wheel all over. Makes getting a good rhythm difficult. Saw some good riders lose it on technique.

Yeah it could definitely use some tarmac.

3rd Audax done this morning 100k. It was called the monmouth meander. Meander, my arse it was up and down for a good half of it. My legs cramped bad style after 70, & again at 80. So I got off and walked, it hurt like god knows. anyway despite all this I beat my previous time for 100k by 20minutes & I did 2/3rds on me tod so I had to follow the sheet for the first time & I didnt get lost! So I am pretty chuffed. But for the 200k in Sept I need to get some miles in & strengthen them as I was hurting towards the end.

Did my commute to work on the tow path on Friday - year since I tried it. Keighley to Leeds and back 62k round trip. Loved it first thing in the morning - it's all down hill too, but a killer coming back. Knees knackered and with the sun sapping n' slowin' me down to a sludge it wasn't any fun. Somehow got up five rise locks and then called in at a mates for a cuppa and a massive bag of green before sticking the buds in and firing up some banging Public Enemy to get the rotors turning for the last stretch. Too many dogs and meandering bums in the way too, but just felt battered. Been out the saddle too long. Some chaffing from the lycra too. Will deffo get the train back next time tho.

I did 20k around St Aidens nature reserve this morning. Felt fucking ace afterwards.

You should try some trails Reg. Doesn't have to be crazy. No substitute for finding a section of trail and riding it over and over again. You'll be amazed at what you're doing after half a day or so.
