My wife finally relented last night and said we may factor a few mountain stages into next years holiday.
I doubt it will happen.
Another good stage yesterday and I cant help but like Sagen.
It is. There's Nelson Oliveira in the Portuguese champions jersey, Rui Costa in the world's and Porsev in the Russian. I think it's one of the Schleck's just about to meet William and his half-brother.
It was up at Harewood. My mate's a pro Ironman racer and he blagged us into the 'VIP' area. It was full of corporate whoppers, most of whom weren't in the least bit interested in the actual cyclists. Shame as there were thousands of 'real' fans who'd have given their right arm to get as close as we did...
The pros were brilliant. Loads were happy to chat and have a bit of a laugh. Cancellara was munching on a sarnie about a minute before the off.
My Mum was living just outside Holme village at the time, perfect for Holme Moss on Day 2. That's my eldest running across the shot in a 'vintage' Lotto hat my Mum got in France at the Tour ages ago...
Me and some the mountain bike lot rode up the climb. It was mental. A real 'moment' when the first riders appeared out of the village. The atmosphere and excitement spread like a wave up the climb. Not sure we'll see anything like it again round here...
Very tempted when the team cars came to halt right by us...
