An absolute bastard of a climb.Gradient's bad enough, but the cobbles give you very dodgy traction. Looking forward to the pros struggling here
Travis_Bickle
They should have made them go up Trooper Lane and Southowram Bank as well. Then the drag up through Boothtown to Queensbury for a breather.....
Young_Marxist_at_Tescos
Trooper Lane is on my Summer '17 list but I'm not looking forward to it. Street view of it is horrific
Travis_Bickle
It's fucking mental. Much longer than you think. Cobbles are in better nick than Shibden Wall but still have that feel that you never get proper traction or a rhythm going. Southowram Bank is a twat as well. I love the fact that there are so many bastard climbs in the space of a mile or so. There are some great, short ones like Howes Lane. They're only 50-100m but they top 20%.They should call it Calderhill.....I have 32t on the back for a reason

Shibden that was my playground as a little kid, I was so lucky to grow up in Northowram. The farmer who lived adjacent to the above picture was a loon, remember him escorting a small gang of 11 year olds off the footpath on his property, he'd come out with shotgun, and his mad eyed daughter who was struggling to control a slavering doberman.I yomped up Lee Lane to buy my first ever pint aged 14. We were sweating like fuck by the time we got to the pub.

No, they're Cromag Fubar OSXs. Had them on my old bike and they feel just right.
