I saw a guy on one, or rather a single speed, not entirely sure if it was fixed or not, in a race once. Didn't have a conventional cyclist's physique, calf like my thigh. Came in mid pack. I was amazed he finished.

A bad day in the saddle yesterday. I did my first audax of the year. 100km, but I totally blew up, as I haven't done a long ride for months. Still I got round though, but only after my mates dragged me back for the last 20km.

We recreated most of that ride. The ice was f***ing lethal mind. I got round that corner but then when it steepens again on the last bend I felt my wheels going.

That's the one. I did alright at first but then gravity took over and it got sketchy!That house is on my dream list. Love that spot. Have taken the kids a few times. Great exploring the big rocks on the far side.When you reach the top of Ridehalgh Lane and ride towards it the view across the reservoir is beautiful. The sun was amazing there on Sunday. What a welcome into Calderfornia. Nice trail on the far side as well.

Looks good that Trav - still can't get over how 'long' your push iron looksThink I mentioned already that we're off to the Dales again at Easter. Staying in Starbotton and after any info from anyone on EASY cycling routes for us and the boys (5 and 7). Looking at circular routes perhaps around a lake or river - nothing that involves roads if possible as the Mrs will have kittens and no one will enjoy it!We'd have the car and a bike carrier too so any good stuff within a shortish drive tooCheers
