Is there a technique for removing dust? It's not something that I'm familiar with.

Movistar have gone with three GC riders in Le Tour. Landa, Quintana and Valverde. My money is on Landa if he can tap out the climbs as he did last year for Froome.

Running is great and has transformed my fitness recently but days like today remind me that it's in many ways a means to an end. I quite like zoning out when running or working stuff over in my head but nothing gets near riding a mountain bike.Went off from the campsite planning just to turn the legs over on some of the cycle paths that are literally outside the gate. But when you mountain bike you're always looking at the ends of paths and wondering where they come from. My instinct was good today. Found some fantastic trails. Brilliantly way-marked and obviously fairly well maintained.Took it steady as I was riding blind. And have to drive everyone home on Saturday! There was also the small matter of very steep descenys, crossed with tree roots. On sand! Makes picking a line a lottery and braking super sketchy. The singletrack was very twisty but I reckon a couple of runs and you can get a decent flow going. Will definitely try and get back out again before the week is out....merveilleux!

Usual short commute into work today except that I'd lent my bike to my nephew over the weekend and he'd lowered the seat a good 3"I didn't notice immediately - too sleepy probably - and by the time I did i couldn't be arsed going home to change it (didn't have multi tool with me either!)It's only 5 miles but it doesn't half make the legs ache more when you're knees are up round your chest!

Some line up on the Tour Of Britain this year aint it.Anyone watching the Vuelta? fast becoming my favourite Grand Tour.Yates in Red,

Yates still in Red heading into the last week of the Vuelta. He's turned into a right spiky little cunt.Post stage intervirews he can barely contain his contempt and that Daniel Thiebe (sp) is not mug and asks sensible questions - not the painful "how do you feel after winning" rubbish you normally get.

Doing the coast 2 coast this weekend over 3 days. Whitehaven to Tynemouth, done no where near enough training miles, but should be fun none the less.

Good luck.

Yeah - it is my favourite grand tour.Valverde - thirty fucking eight and can do everything!I watched an IV with him the other day and the only question not asked was what drugs are you on?I am going to watch the highlights again in a bit - on ITV 4 and Eurosport.I want Yates to win - spikey cunt or not I'm a jingoistic bastard and he is British.
Ray_Hankin's_shorts
That finish yesterday!Sagan almost caught the two on the line - amazing race and some frighteningly quick speeds due to the tailwindYates then went on to say it was the easiest day of the race so far.......
Anchor
^^^ Ha ha ha - how far did Sagan sprint? 500 meters and almost caught them - i'd like to see his speed over the last 350 meters.Great to see the break succeed. The break is almost a thing of the past these days but the Vuelta is a different beast.Great stage. Two days in Andora to decide it.

Going to a talk by Charlie Kelly, one of the founding fathers of mountain biking, in Keswick, tomorrow night. Really looking forward to it.
