I first visited London on a school trip in 1978. When we were waiting for our train back, a few of us went down to the underground. We couldn t get through the barriers, but the noise and people rushing about gave us a real buzz. When I moved down here it was a lot more grimey than it is now. Angel was great, a single platform and trains pulling in at both sides, it was great. Not like that now.
As for the unused ones, there was one near where I used to work, Down Street, but TFL still used it when I last went passed, there s always workmen there. The one at Aldwych has been used many times for filming, but I think when I came here in 1990, it was open Monday to Friday to passengers.
