Just been reading that Russia has been under-delivering gas to Germany over the winter forcing them to slowly use up their strategic reserve of gas - hence Germany's reluctance to impose sanctions. They're literally being held over a barrel.

Bod Messes with most flights from over here. Tokyo to UK / Amsterdam / Zurich / Frankfurt / Paris / Madrid / Helsinki flies over Siberia and Russia, meaning you have to go via HK or Sing and Dubai but then all Dubai and Qatar flights to the UK and nothern Europe then fly over Crimea and Ukraine. Cuts off Aus and NZ as well.

My much battered Sun Run stocks were up 20% yesterday. Don’t take that the wrong way. What I’m saying is maybe this will be a catalyst for a shift to renewables? It’s hard for me to comprehend a country as powerful as Germany making itself so dependent on a country like Russia for its energy.
