How many have died as victims of capitalism? Obviously there isn't a face of evil to pin the atrocities too but I bet the numbers are astonishingly high.

Foxy_Dread the communists win hands down in the mass killing game, then the fascists, then the colonial Spanish. The British Empire was comparatively benign. this is why the Queen was generally welcome in our former colonies whereas everybody is on Sniper alert if the French president visits Algeria. I believe the commonwealth confirmed Charles as its next head only a couple of months ago, though I only caught that in passing on the Radio.

albert_herbert_hawkins The british left the killing to the licensed chartered companies (East India Company, Imperial East Africa etc etc) and their private armies. Although ostensibly private, most shareholders/directors were of the british establishment, whether sitting members or just the landed gentry. Essentially they were doing the government's bidding but covertly. They committed horrendous atrocities in africa an the far east, but the british government gets away with saying 'nowt to do with us pal, they were private companies'. then of course there were the british driven line drawing exercises, all of which we're still dealing withe consequences of today. Africa, Iran/Iraq/Turkey/Kurdistan, India/Pakistan/Bangladesh, Ireland, Palestine which themselves have cost and are still costing millions of lives. To espouse the British as some kind of benevolent overlord is naive at best and colonially jingoistic at worst.

Climate change deaths can be attributed to Capitalism, some Empire deaths can be attributed to Capitalism after say 1720ish. Increase in insanitary living conditions deaths in Victorian UK are all deaths at the hand of capitalism. The navvies dieing cutting the train lines, Hebden Bridge asbestosis deaths, smoking deaths, other cancer deaths, Oil war deaths. If Communism is in front, it won't be for long.

Are scientists capitalists? If so have they always been capitalists, are the treatments to cure capitalist diseases. Was the funding public donation or pure business funding.

Would the denial of cheap to manufacture drugs and treatments from the poor be a black mark against Capitalism.

If medical benefits are a plus for Capitalism are medical failures a negative? Where does famine fit into this? Plentiful food failing to reach people in need.

Mitaman He's running out of options. Letting things run like they are over winter will probably see the end of his regime. This is possibly his last gambit. Will his (surviving) regime partners let him near a nuclear trigger or put a bullet in his skull? That's always been the $64000 question.

Putin won’t be taken out unless they are in very big trouble OR he decides to go nuclear. Both are a way off yet.

Foxy_Dread I think that Russia invaded Ukraine due to a number of reasons; Ukraine wishing to build stronger bonds with the EU & NATO, the possible ill health of Putin, the weakening of the USA's desire to be international peace keepers especially in Europe, the geopolitical playout in Syria, the over reliance on Russian utilities, the support of China as a water tester for Taiwan, the slow decrease in the quality of international politicians/heads of state, a lasting desire to return to the good old days of a greater Russia/USSR, the lack of response to pervious acts of Russian aggression and the weakening of the bonds that hold Europe/EU. They all came together in a perfect storm and he chanced his arm.
