Just got tickets for the Divine Comedy in April. Not seen 'em before but like their stuff - and York Barbican seems intimate venue.
Planning on Coral in March (maybe Leeds) and Placebo next November but looking for smaller venues - happy to make a few days with Placebo in Europe sightseeing. Anyone been to decent halls in Europe, say 1000 capacity?

SardineTree Always liked the Melkveg in the Dam and the tivoli in Utrecht -used to go semi regular when I lived in Dover - ferry over, train up.

Working Mens Club tomorrow night

Bdrmm were on last night sounded like Mogwai meets Radiohead. Decent racket

Working Mens Club seem to be attracting the jacket and trainers brigade more. 4 or 5 decent tunes with a bit of dullish stuff in the middle. They can make an anthem, bit like New Order meets acid meets guitar.

As they do more stuff that canon of great tunes will increase I reckon.

Under-the-ground saw them a few years back at the Leeds Met. they were amazing BUT take ear plugs. They are one of the loudest bands I've seen and the crank up the base to almost sickly levels.

I've just sorted Mrs H out with a Christmas Present. Sam Fender at Tramlines Sheffield next July. of course there's method in my Madness (they arent playing until the Sunday). Nope, James are supporting along with Shed Seven, Jade Bird and Declan McKenna (who I dont know much about). Thats Friday

Saturday is headlined by Kassabian + Vaccines and Sunday by Madness, Rev and tyhe malers, The Wombats.

Only got tickets for the first night though

Had to laugh last night after mentioning the loudness of Killing Joke. Went in Northern Guitars and there was a surf band on. Bloke came around with those industrial ear plugs and asked everyone if they wanted any. They were loud but good. Totally acoustic set and the sound of Dick Dale et al is ringing in my ears, literally, this morning.
