few gigs coming up

Blind Yeo - The Crescent, York. Thursday

Misura

Jon I'm seeing them in Sheffield in November. They have an energy.

Jon

Misura Well it’s like this: I thought it sounded interesting based on the one song from the Jools Holland performance but I wasn’t sure any of my chums would enjoy it so I only bought one ticket and then it sold out and then the resale ticket prices just kept climbing and well it would’ve meant taking an evening off work and getting over to Brooklyn and back and we’ll, what can I say?

There’s definitely a buzz on the band.

Misura Our son’s band are meant to be supporting this lot in November.Interesting, if it happens.

Under-the-ground

The dream machine Newport Le Pub. This was brilliant. All for £11. Proper beat combo as they used to call them . You know the deal cosmic scousers and all that. The place was absolutely bouncing by the end.
This lot have it all. What a great evening. If you get the chance go see them. Brilliant band.

Absolute banging gig tonight, Swim Deep at The Brudenell. They've been knocking around for years but I only really know their latest album and a few other tracks. Decent crowd, such a great venue. First night of a mini tour. Couple of tracks from the end was this ace Kraut-rocky total wig-out not at all like the other stuff, belter.

Harvest

David Essex last night. Rock on.

Got Bill Callahan next Friday in Manchester. Anyone heard of him? I'd not until last month. Really like some of his albums now

Harvest

fuzzy Great voice.

Harvest 100%

For the avoidance of doubt, the David Essex gig was a present for my sister, she's ten years older than me. It was like a Tena lady convention. When he cracked open Hold Me Close I'm thinking we're gonna see some defibrillator action real soon. I'll be honest, I enjoyed it more than I expected. He's retiring from touring when this tour ends at London Palladium in a few days.

Harvest He's retiring from touring when this tour ends

That’ll be the day.

Under-the-ground

Not quite as long in the egg as David Essex, but still getting on a bit. Joe Jackson in Bristol. What a nice surprise. Starts on the front foot is she really going out with him and different for girls just on the piano. Then the band came on and doing the new album, which I didn’t mind at all as I like it.
His band were top drawer. Proper brilliant players. Especially the drummer and the South American guy doing the percussion.

You know how spiritualised go into another song seamlessly. This lot were that well drilled . Stepping out just came in, half way through a song . Absolutely amazing.

Anyway a great night and well happy I went. Great night

Under-the-ground

Tom McRae. Cardiff.

A busy week this week. I’m not right up on his work, but I really like his album just like blood, and the other one Ive got is blink and you’ll miss the border. A great songwriter. How come people like this aren’t massive. His lyrics are brilliant. He did 2hours. Great value.

A good evening and recommended.
