@Bielsa’s_Bucket#496005 The crowd in Manchester on Friday were a funny lot. I felt young which is no bad thing. There was an old lad near us in his 60s with a white feather cut, massive tusks and a cravat. A cravat with a polo shirt though. Looked shit to me but who am I to say?Great set though. He just sounds so good. Played for about two hours. A good few council numbers which was nice. I really enjoyed 'its a very deep sea'. Good spread of songs from loads of albums. The old crowd pleasers but also a few nice surprises. He seemed to be loving it. Great venue the apollo. "Brushed" from Heavy Soul was a stand out for me. Sounded ace with two drummers. Went for a piss at one point and some Herbert with a massive belly was shouting on about he only wanted to hear Jam songs i felt like telling him to go watch a tribute act and pushing him in the trough

Off to see Luke Haines & Peter buck tomorrow in the smoke at the 100club. I have never been & looking forward to it.
I know he is a wierd cunt but he has done some good track’s over the last 30years

Went last night. First time to the 100club a funny place , but nice to see all the photos up on the walls.
the band seemed to be put together by Peter Buck as they were all American. They could play , the drummer was superb, glam beat with a velvet underground feel. Peter Buck is a proper player & you can see why REM lasted, not that I ever saw them. Luke Haines seem to think how am I playing with these best in class musicians. A new album on the way as well
all in a great night & worth the 4hour round drive

Saw Pele/Amsterdam/Ian Prowse last night. It's all the same thing according to him.

Anyway -They/he blew me away. What a performer and he has some great tunes.

I'd recommend. Proper bloke from Ellesmere port on the right side of politics. As you'd expect. Songs about coppers being cunts, fucking the monarchy off and the S*n being a massive pile of old cunt. Ace.

I also slept in me van. It was bang on. So had a few beers and drove home this morning. No drama.

what the fuck is Johnny Marr doing pulling all those stupid shapes? He never used to. Anyway shit hot guitarist & he played this charming man. So happy.

glad I made the effort for Blondie. Only 2 of them left but Glen Matlock was with them so was an extra treat. Deborah Harry is a bit plastic but she still has a decent voice & she is Debbie Harry so she can do what she likes. The lead guitarist shredded a bit too much but they were tight as a drum. As for the drummer too many fills & thump crash. Still a decent nights entertainment

Under-the-ground Yes, heard the last album before the gig and was thinking “hmmm, it’s a bit too Mojo…” but thought the songs sounded better live and the new stuff better still. Loved the way Buck studiously avoided eye contact throughout but still managed to work his way through various Johnny Thunders poses. And great to see that Rickenbacker shine under the lights!
