Anchor cordshoes I have seen him a few times over the years - doing stand up and his monologues - I think he is incredibly funny. Sharp as a tack. I saw him deliver the ultimate put down once - he enquired, after some consternation from a feamle audience member about him professing to have engaged in coitus with a fellow male comedian, how big her see you next tuesday was. Four people walked out - including my sister. I thought it was geniuis.
Under-the-ground Tres excited. Got my ticket for the Boss at Villa Park next year. Listening to him was one of the effects of lockdown. I always thought his stuff was too American. was nice to start listening to him
white_dragon Under-the-ground I've got Hyde Park on the Thursday. Probably do Villa Park as well , but will leave it till nearer the time .
Under-the-ground Didn’t bother with Sir Brett Anderson coz of money. Might wait till next pay day & opted for John cale instead. Matt Deighton then in November doing his acoustic stuff which I really like at the moment
Kevin_Stapleton Dean Wareham, at the fourth attempt (hopefully), this Thursday. Originally scheduled for 16 April 2020.
Kevin_Stapleton Kevin_Stapleton What a good night. I’m still not taking going to gigs for granted yet. He played all of On Fire, plus Flowers, Tugboat and his cover of Scott Walker’s Duchess. I had a strange, maudlin thought halfway through - in 50 years’ time will people still be listening to this beautiful, idiosyncratic music? Not sure where that came from. Aaaaaanyway, I got to listen to Snowstorm live again, and got goosebumps at the opening bars of Isn’t It A Pity. Ceremony woulda been good but I ain’t carping. Isn’t music ace?
Anchor The Men They Couldn't Hang. Fuck. A band I've not seen in two decades. They were ace. Tight as fuck and some proper rabble rousing agit cow punk folk music. Loved it.
Under-the-ground I see the House of Love are touring with Pete Astor, I assume as support? will be good I reckon.
Anchor Djpekingman Aye - belter - alongside Ghosts of cable street and the whole of waiting For Bonaparte.
cordshoes Joyce Sims at Band in the Wall, Manchester on Sunday night (not late). I'm still there with Mrs. Cordy but 2 spare tickets if anyone fancies it.
Under-the-ground Got my ticket for the house of love & just seen don maclean is playing Cardiff on the 11th. Tempted
Odd_Job Kalorama Festival, Lisbon next week. Kraftwerk, Chemical Brothers, Arctic Monkeys, Bonobo, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Disclosure, Roisin Murphy + others. €75 a ticket. Would be £200 here
Under-the-ground Proud dad this morning. Got a text from the youngest & he told me he was in the mosh pit for Fontaines DC yesterday. Seems he might finally be listening to me? Who knows but I think they are the best band about at the moment. They are really delivering
