Managed to get a ticket for 40 quid . My mates , The Declan Swans opening up at 6.30 , put on the bill at Rob and Ryan's request. They are , in they're own words a piss take band. With songs about Acton park, Timmy bins and other local characters. They've had to drop the slanderous songs about Richard Madeley, posh and Becks , Judith Chalmers and more besides. Obviously the Wrexham song has gave them a massive bump. To see them on a big stage Infront of probably 15000 people ,at the time , brought a tear to my eye. I could see Kings of Leon fans looking at each , with what the fuck is this expressions. But there was enough local support for the them, singing along to make em appreciated. It must be 25 years since Jonsey put Scoots poetry to music in the Acton bar and now they support the kings of Leon, mad times.
Kelly Jones's side project were next , bit country covers band . Girl had a good voice and they were enjoyable.
Kings of Leon were excellent. Only really listened to one album by them , but seamed to know 90% of the set.
If I wasn't going to watch the shit show at ER today, I'd be snaffling another cheap ticket to watch me mates on 40 foot screams. As it's the same line up again today.
The lads said Kelly Jones and his band were really sound with them , they hadn't met KOL yet.
