Harvest Six and I think they’re pretty well known. Sold out tour. 3,500 room yesterday.

Might actually be five, not sure if it was the original drummer or not.

First time off to a concert with my youngest. St Vincent in Bristol at a small. Been really looking forward to this. Her new album is fucking immense

Saw Theatre Of Hate a couple of weeks ago in a small pub venue in Cambridge. Loved it, they were ace.
For a bunch of old blokes they are still sharp and Kirk Brandon still has a decent voice.
Off to see Thee Oh Sees, Osees what ever you want to call them in London in August. Fith time seeing them and are probably the best live band I've seen. A must see if you like that kind of thing and get the chance to.

Mate saw TOH with The Mission and Chameleons over here recently. I was never a fan but I did like that Spear Of Destiny tune Come Back.

Jon I'm surprised at that but pleased. With them being a very English band I'd assumed they weren't such a hit in The States, like the Jam for instance.

Harvest They did. Did you see them at Tiffany’s? Some big skinheads gave us an hand up and we were sat on the canopy over the stairs for a while. The band seemed larger than life.
There’s an Anglophile culture in most big cities over here. Suggs said last night that the first time they came over was 79.
I think they’ve played here as The Dangermen and they once played Irving Plaza billed as The Madness.
I like them a lot. They’re not hip or trendy or obscure but there’s more to life than that nonsense. They make me smile. Our House is as good as anything Ray Davies ever wrote in my opinion it they don’t get the recognition for that side of their music because they chose the cheeky chappie, jolly japes image. It’s worked well for them to be fair.

The Damned are playing the same venue tonight.

Saw them again sometime in the 90s and they did a lot of new stuff, quite dull really. I listened to One Step Beyond album last week for the first time in years and knew every word.

Yeah, they did a tour of the US recently with those other bands and got some good reviews. I liked Spear Of Destiny as a kid and have seen them a few times, but they are one of those bands that I wonder why I liked them so much as I get older.

Just got back from St Vincent. Fucking brilliant. The full package. Great singer, brilliant guitarist, looks the part. Her band were top drawer players. The sound was crystal clear.

That blew me away. Proper stage presence. The youngest even liked her as well. Good mix of people as well. Great evening

Off to see Richard Hawley tonight. I hear he has been playing the ocean. Fingers crossed. He is a good bloke & the new record is good.

This is going to be a good year for music. Some real good stuff has already come out.

Fuck me Richard Hawley was on fire last night. You forget what a great guitar player he is. He did all the good ones. His backing band are excellent. Shez Sheridan especially. You get the feeling they enjoy what they are doing. The closer the ocean was as good as it gets. Took my breath away.
Heart of Oak absolutely motored. The English born to run.
With this and St Vincent a few days ago. Living the dream.

Haircut 100 are playing down the road, bottom of a bill with ABC and, bizarrely, at least to me Howard Jones as the headline. I was thinking I could go for the first two then get home at a reasonable hour. It’s about $100 a ticket. Fuck that.
