Leblon is the first place I ever stayed in Brazil, my mate lived there with his ex missus back in 2001.
Very upmarket, but there are still favelas nearby. Flamengo a training ground very close by in Gavea, although there was an horrendous fire there a couple of years back. Not sure if it was that location.

After I went for the very first time I wondered why everyone was scared to go to Brazil, but the more I went back and the more television I watched I realised you could come unstuck very quickly.
Lovely people, but it can very hairy very quickly and they're not scared to use guns.
