Because my mum died this year - I was 56, she was 84. Last year my dad died. I was 55 and he was 80. of course to see your folks on their death bed is harrowing. I wont forget it. I also when I left whacked some music on and I drove around Beeston on my own looking at the places they had lived, played tennis etc etc.
But you were a lot younger and your mum being 62 was no age so I read things like that and put it into perspective to my own situation (a lot older). Also a couple of weeks after I died a lad I knew and grew up with dies. He was 56. When my mum died a good friend of mine lost her short battle with cancer. She as my age.
Its probably selfish but I see other peoples situation and suffering and dont feel half as bad about mine.
