Now back at work.

The ship canal is stunning, but the cycle path is non existent in places. It was nice in the sun.
Its 8years since I was last in Manchester, what a city. Only enough time to have a couple of beers. I love the place it was absolutely buzzing.

This will probably sound weird to those of you familiar with Manchester but when we used to go over from about 85 to 90 it always seemed a bit of a struggle to find pubs, any pubs not even good ones, in the city centre compared to Leeds and Liverpool.

The centre of Manchester is mainly retail with some offices and culture places also. A few bars but not obvious.
Liverpool pubs are definitely more congregated centrally.
Around the centre of Town are many small areas where there is more space for pubs and bars. Some shit and some excellent.
Ancoats and the Northern Quarter for example, probably had combined about a dozen pubs and bars between 1985 and 90.
I would guess over a hundred now in these 2 "new" areas.
Outside areas are limited due to space but better now with more leniency.

National Memorial Arboretum neat Burton. Enormous place and a very peaceful spot to walk round. Some stunning monuments to sit and reflect by. This one for those shot at dawn and recently pardoned was very poignant.

Foxy_Dread It's a lovely, serene place. It's about 150 acres so you'd need about 4 hours, we did 3 and it was enough. There are hundreds of monuments and dedicated trees. It's on the river too and all the wildflowers were out and dragonflies buzzing around. So glad we went. It's on @Bod 's doorstep I think.

Harvest it is indeed, been a few times, lovely place, really well set out, you can spend hours there. Amazing how many monuments and dedicated areas there are to the different regiments and good causes there are.
