Visit to Bassenthwaite Lake today and the local Wildlife Park. Only rained, slightly. Off to 'La Merienda' this evening for tea, and to celebrate securing a way out of my current job!

Flaneur My maternal grandparents lived in Llandonna village at the top of the hill. A lot of my school hols were memories of being there. Used to roam about the countryside down to the beach. Making dams, dens crabbing, fishing. Watching sand yachts on the beach on the odd occassion.

Went back last year with my brother cycling. Good for the soul.

The view from the road down is breathtaking, the sweeping view across to Red Wharf Bay. My Nan always reckoned you could ses the Isle of Man on a clear day.

Wish I lived there.

90Piesanhour Loweswater was tremendous. Cockermouth was nice, but as it was Tuesday, nearly all the eateries were shut! Back in Keswick, now!

Sat at my local, a great restaurant, with a 10 people bar.

Leaving in just over 2 weeks, to come back to Leeds, after 24 years in the US.

Owner has given me 2 months of free drinks, and I am giving heavy tips.

Gonna miss this place and this country, but thank goodness I have my UK passport.

Around 10 years ago i was on that road heading north for the tunnel , totally lost cars zig zagging in front me mental , i made the decision to follow anything with Dutch or Belgium number plates it worked got me off and north for the tunnel
