Tolley A good win last night against Hartlepool’s academy. Guiseley are now into the first round proper of the FA youth cup after three qualifying rounds. A big crowd too. They have a development system that seems to punch well above its weight. Is that lad a relation?
No he's my best mates lad, he used to play for Guiseley juniors U7/U8 then got picked up by Leeds. Was there all the way through to U16 when had growing injuries and was let go. He's the same age as Archie Gray and Connor Douglas at Leeds. They're his mates.
It was really tough to see how that release affected the family but he's buckling down with Guiseley at the Acadmey. Dave Currie has put a great side together of ex Academy kids who have all been through the system and for one reason or another didnt quite cut it.
Jack Mason has unbleiavable natural pace, he is electric and a great finisher too. Hopefully he gets picked up by a club and he and Guiseley can benfit from Leeds' loss.
