Jon When i was at primary school we used to get a free season ticket for Bramley as i was in the RL team - i can remember one season when they went up to the first division when every weekend they got swamped by the number of away fans - Warrington particualy stick in mind for a total ground takeover.

Jon Great little shop. I was gonna buy Patti Smiths new one then remembered I was skint. Had a good chat with the bloke working there which sort of went from the CBGBs scene to Eric's Liverpool scene to the Two Tone scene to people in their 50s who were really into 2Tone and are now Reform divs.

Whitehaven is the St Tropez of the Cumbria coast (It's not quite as rough as Maryport and Silloth and has lots of boats in a massive harbour)

fuzzy I’d guess that’s the same bloke we met. Julian? He was really excited about the Talking Heads book. Not just the content but the printing of the sleeve. It was refreshing to meet someone in our age group with such enthusiasm for something, anything.
Maybe that’s a reflection of the circles I move in?
I love this place. 2025 gave me The Football Lads. 2026 has already given me Two Tone Reform Divs.

We had a couple of nice breakfasts in that gallery across the way. Great cross section of folk in there. Good place to people watch but you had to choose you spot carefully lest the early morning sunshine blinded you.

Fuck. I want to go back to Grassmere.
