Wednesday train to Munich, another 3.5 hours.
At one point I was asked to go to stuttgart then cologne. I'm getting too old for this

I'm not there now but on Sunday I was in Sam Reads bookshop in Grasmere. An OMJ favourite.

We'd been to Whitehaven for the Mrs 50th and dropped in on the way back then went for a roast dinner at the Badger Bar in Rydal which was excellent.

fuzzy I was thinking about Sam Read’s yesterday. They had a copy of that Factory Records book in there I was looking at in October. Had I bought it, it would’ve been destroyed in my bag by Shap for sure.
It’s only just been released over here and I was given an Amazon gift card over Christmas.

Jon Great little shop. I was gonna buy Patti Smiths new one then remembered I was skint. Had a good chat with the bloke working there which sort of went from the CBGBs scene to Eric's Liverpool scene to the Two Tone scene to people in their 50s who were really into 2Tone and are now Reform divs.

Whitehaven is the St Tropez of the Cumbria coast (It's not quite as rough as Maryport and Silloth and has lots of boats in a massive harbour)

Loose_Lips There’s not much more to report. A group of Whitehaven supporters walked past us in the side terrace when they suddenly ran towards us. One, head down ran at me and grabbed me around my waist pushing me backwards. Gave him a couple of clips around the ear and it was over as soon as it began. We looked at each other as if to say, ‘Did that really just happen?’ Totally random event. Nothing lead up to it, no exchange of words . I don’t recall even making eye contact.
