Just back from Admiralty, a truly moving experience. Talked with people of all ages and backgrounds and just ended up apologising for handing them back to the Chinese. We, the British, let these people down.

That is not what I said. Most of Chinese here came to get away from Chinese Imperial oppression or Chinese Communist oppression. The ones that are driving property prices here these days are doing so because they think HK is a decent hedge against what may happen up north, plus the fact that the longest you can own a freehold under those cuddly communists is 85 years, this does not sit well with the generational hand it on nature of Chinese culture. I'm sure your experience in West Yorkshire though at the local Chinese restaurant is way more relevant than living here.

Its quite right the locals would like her majesty’s finest back at the helm, they must be a bit short on opium by now and in need of work now they’ve dug out the airport.
