Raposa Always thought him an oddball and not all there.
The idea that someone wears Wellington boots ,shorts and a Hitler tache for laughs is frankly fucking pathetic!
But that was his act wasn’t it, be controversial to get giggles, like that other cunt Barrymore.
Interesting that when you Google him, Jimmy Saville and Dave Lee Travis come up too!
The boots and 'tache was, I think, something he used for short TV variety type shows where he had only a few minutes with the audience and therefore had to make an immediate impression. What you'd think of as his "normal" act was a mixture of dialogues and musical based interludes.
To be honest I think he was under rated as an artist. He could spin a yarn like Dave Allen but also add visual comedy to it. And he had a proper musical background - he started off as the lead singer of some 60s Liverpool outfit who's name escapes me.
In histories eye he's probably just being painted with the same brush as Jim Davidson etc. I thought he was better. Not racist/sexist like the rest but certainly over reliant on buffoonery for some peoples tastes.
