Massive D-Day happening right now.
As you know, my step-son (I call him my son) is a key player for the England partially sighted Futsal squad and the world Cup starts tomorrow in Birmingham.
The team is made up of various classifications of sight - some lads can see straight ahead, some lads can only see the periphery. They have a mix of classifications.
Before each tournament, they get 'classified' by an independent medical team and my lad had his last night, undertaken by an Iranian and a Czech doctor duo, who can barely speak English and could not converse between them.
They de-classified my lad, going against 10 straight years of classification that proves that he is partially sighted.
He has an appeal. which started at 9.00am and the English FA Doctor is going in with him.
If they fail him, he misses the tournament and his partially sighted Futsal career for England is over.
