Was supposed to be running the Tokyo marathon last month. After 10 years I finally got a place (over 350,000 applications for 30,000 places), but tore my tendon (CT band issue?) in my left knee just after Christmas. That kaiboshed the run sadly, so sold my ticket to my colleague who ran it instead. When i went t pick up the bib and stuff at the check-in, showed my photo ID and they put a wrist tag on, with a security thing built in. Cut it off, glued it back onto my colleague's wrist and prayed like mad (he'd been training for two months). Thankfully, the electronic tag didn't go off when he went into the starting pen. Will start jogging again soon, now its warming up here. Should be able to get some decent runs in until late June before it gets too hot. Running in a Canadian winter can't be any fun?

3 weeks in probably averaging 5K a day. Couple of 10 minute runs due to being absolutely f*cked with 12 hour days at work and then trying to run. Other night literally threw on some runners and went out in jeans and T-shirt for 15 minutes just to get the run in. Done about 4 10K runs and will be doing the Toronto Marathon 10K next month for Sick Kids charideeThanks for the support Dan

Enjoying seeing your progress on insta.Nice one mush.It looks like my running will be curtailed for at least two more months. Pissed off is not the word. I enjoy it so much and had built up reasonable fitness.See middle aged injury/boring bastard thread.

TT - where you at now? I have been sans phone for a while and not caught up with my instagram feed.I went for a 4.5 mile run tonight - first run since March 7th and a injury catastrophe. My dodgy knees first played up, then I had a bulging disc in me neck (ouch), then a broke a toe and finally cracked some ribs. I am not right but well enough for a trot - I need top get back into it badly.Thoroughly enjoyed it and feel rather chipper now. Might even let the missus have it later.

You sure you were running? Sounds like someone's just given you a shoeing.

^^ Ha ha haI am tempted to give this a go. How short are your short runs then?I am thinking my usual training regimen when I'm fit of three runs a week, Two short (five miles) one long (seven/eight) miles and the rest about a mile round the block near where I live.I can also take loads of selfies for insta and twat on about my eclectic musical tastes to boot! it's a win win...I hurl some abuse at you now on Insta. In other name related news my ex brother in law is called Nic Jones.
