Raposa Under-the-ground Aye,just got in from a 4 miler and the wife had decided to tag along. Nice steady pace and between us we put the world to rights. Enjoyed.
Travis_Bickle Done a couple of 5 mile runs over the last couple of days. I usually listen to James O'Brien on catch up. Played music yesterday and ran faster
90Piesanhour I nearly always listen to music. Got a bit of punk, rock, rock n roll, rap stuff on the iPod, which usually does the trick.
Raposa I’ve never ran with earphones on,listening to music etc. Is it not disconcerting or does it help in getting you round and helping to forget that your lungs are about to burst ? Serious question.
90Piesanhour Raposa I mostly listen to music as it helps take your mind off the process of running, which isn't the most exciting thing in the world. I find it spurs me on, particularly if a song like this comes on (which I understand isn't for everybody, but which definitely floats my boat):
Travis_Bickle Went through a phase of running without. Nice to zone out a bit but I use it to catch up with stuff
90Piesanhour 11.47k in 1:05:22 today after a week of not running, but climbing lots of hills in the Lakes. That'll do for now.
Anchor Music for me. Always have. I have an iPod shuffle and vary it. At present RTJ 3 and 4 in chronological order. Same when I'm on the bike.
90Piesanhour Will be going, shortly. Will I hit a shower? Probably, but I won't melt (unless it's acid rain, of course).
90Piesanhour 90Piesanhour Managed 11.23 kms in 01:02:34 in the end. Slower than normal, partly due to aching leg muscles from TKD on Monday, but I'm only really doing it to keep up with TKD, so it'll do for me.
90Piesanhour Anchor My wife complained of a dodgy knee on her run today. You wouldn't catch that stopping Stuart Pearce, would you?!
Anchor 90Piesanhour Ha ha ha - Stuart was being paid inordinate amounts of money - I do it to keep my bay window in check! 😀 I think my running days may finally be over and the MTB will my new excercise regimen. Gutted as I love running.
Travis_Bickle 3.5 miles this morning. I'd got in the habit of running from work early doors before lockdown. Reminded myself how good a start to the day it can be when you get past that 'can't be arsed' feeling
90Piesanhour Anchor Cheers. Had another run tonight, nearly 7 miles - 11.13 km. Managed that in 1:01:09 at a pace of, wait for it, 8.50! Chuffed to bits with that.
