Another slow one today, but deliberately so, as I caused consternation by making an announcement about Gaza and genocide to the park runners before we set off. Got told off afterwards by the organisers for being 'political' and associating Park Run with politics. If thinking genocide is bad, whoever is committing it, is political then so be it. Wake up, people.

YoungParisian_inExile To be honest, if I make it to 250 (11 to go), without being banned, I might sack it and just do my own runs. Some of the front runners are full on bellends who shout “Coming through!” As they streak past you. I have considered tripping the fuckers up, but that would get me banned. I only continue with Park Run because it helps me keep up with my martial arts fitness. Being told off today, for suggesting people should give a shit about mass murder, has left a bad taste in my the mouth. The next 11 runs will include me wearing one or other of my Palestine tops, keeping my mouth shut, then considering my next move. 🏃🏼

Anchor I think off road and UTMB / Ultras is the huge trend at the moment. Check out all the activity in Chamonix over the past few days.
Street running I guess is all the run clubs ... with everyone wearing the gear.

I Wear sock liners on purpose so that those fuckers/ hipsters / nouveau ´cool’ runners know that it’s an old get burning past them 😁

I’m still wearing Palestine tops every park run, as it clearly makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Gonna do 8 more runs to get my 250 t-shirt and will then fuck it off. I’ll do the odd one, but don’t take kindly to being told off for raising the matter of genocide and have got bored of avoiding dogs, pushchairs and wannabe sprinters shouting ‘Coming through all the time.
Other than that, I wear what I want and don’t stroke my beard.

I think what bums me out the most about them is that during the week I would say its a 60/40 split in favour of women putting in the hard crappy miles as 6.30/ 7am.

Come Saturday morning for the Park Run 5k it flips to a 70/30 split in favour of men. A heavy number who are fully kitted for, as Anchor says, their 5k marathon.

The Brighton one is way more chill than London and a nice crowd but still too many whoppers
