Flaneur The Corner Boy, Gulliver’s, Crown and Anchor (think it was called that - opposite the Modernist shop), The City (fucking hell), lots of lively Canal Street late nighters (I’ve always been confident in my sexuality, me) and then went on a Smiths bus tour, so Salford Lads Club, various boozers in places like Hulme, etc. One of my favourite things during the whole trip was actually on the train back, this Mancunian sitting with a bag full of cans. Anyone who got on the train, he kept saying, “you’re welcome to sit next to me, but I am drinking quite heavily.” I’ve used that line three times in the office this morning.
