He plays in the Lincs u12 league and involves 90 mile round trips to places like Skegness and Ingoldmells on a Sunday morning.

Djpekingman My shit always works but as it's the central database it gets blamed for every one elses issues and I always have to get out of bed and prove to people that the fault is elsewhere. It's a case of "if we cannot connect to ABC then ABC must be down" rather than there own shit is not working, a network is out, a firewall is up, middleware is clogged, they can't type a fucking password, or they're looking at the wrong ABC*.

I'm not supposed to talk precisely about what I do for a living.

space Yep - that sounds about right. I used to get everybody in a room (or on a call) and not let them leave until they'd pinpointed the issue and come up with a solution. 9 times out of 10 it would be some cunt in comms that had fucked it up.

Blame culture used to do my tits in (and whose fault is that?). I remember once the test manager had hired a (expensive) contract test guru to help with an issue. Two weeks later he started kicking up a fuss that ABC didn't work. Now I knew it worked because I'd tested it myself hours earlier. So I went to see him.

The dozy cunt had only been testing on the wrong system for the previous two weeks. He didn't last long. I remember his name - Ping. The twat.
