Foxy_Dread I've just refreshed my memory, he tramped to London then on to Spain. I think I lost interest in the book once he got to Spain, but enjoyed the first part. I think i'll have to buy it and read it in full.

I used to wake myself up in early summer aged 13 to 15, to go out walking down Shibden Valley. Just before first light with not a soul around. Me and Whisky my brother's Jack Russell cross. I loved it. Then home before anyone was up and off to school.

I read Cider with Rosie at school.

I recently read As I Walked out one Summer...and it fueld my imagination somewhat - the idea of it and it being normal. The descriptions in the book are second to none. Lovely writing. I enjoyed the descrtiptions of Spain a that time and places i have been to. It was incredible really. What a thing to do.

Not read A moment of war - imagine walking to Spain then fighting facists. flip me - that would be ace.

Sat. Watch the match, 10am, tweet shite throughout. Long walk with the youngest. Not going to see Wilco at Forest Hills because I’m not ready for crowds yet. Great live band, best outdoor venue I’ve even been to. This one hurts but confirms my mindset right now.

Raposa my Mum used to grade carpet tiles in Shelf for a few years. It was her last job, with the last of her kids growing up (me) she was able to pack in her late 40s. She worked with and was good mates with Bob's wife (Rita, Sue etc) when that carry on was all happening.
