Reggie_Perrin I can't seem to forgive the missus for insisting on buying chicken breast instead of the far far superior tasting boneless thighs.
space Reggie_Perrin I can’t seem to forgive the missus for insisting on buying chicken breast instead of the far far superior tasting boneless thighs. My son and missus are the same. I can only assume they like their chicken nice and dry. I'm definitely a thigh man.
heyho Reggie_Perrin I can’t seem to forgive the missus for insisting on buying chicken breast instead of the far far superior tasting boneless thighs. Always been a breast man. Always have been. But never on its own. Either in a curry, fajitas etc. Something that spices it up. My mum was a pretty good cook and I can remember my dad coming out with the immortal line only about 4 years ago to my mum 'I have never really liked chicken breasts'. They had been married 50+ years lol. Still amuses me that one.
Reggie_Perrin heyho surely thigh meat is better in curries H. There's a reason chefs stuff breasts, it's too dry. Think I'm going to make a curry on Friday, all day in the slow cooker. Stink the house out.
heyho Reggie_Perrin all day in the slow cooker. Ive just bought Mrs H one of those 9 in 1 Ninja things for Christmas. I am sure she will be over joyed 😆
heyho Reggie_Perrin surely thigh meat is better in curries H. True but those Iceland frozen breasts are very cheap you know 😀 . When that car boot sale was on at the site where that posh incinerator thing is now I used to go on a Sunday and there was a Brummie bloke selling meat (in a big van). £30 later and enough frozen chicken breasts, joints of beef to last 3 months.
Reggie_Perrin heyho I looked at those, it's a lot of money and we wouldn't use it any differently to a slow cooker. Also got a Morphy Richards intellichef which is great but they don't make em anymore so can't get a new one now the non stick is wearing.
heyho Reggie_Perrin We have an old air fryer which is pretty good and also a slow cooker which has seen better days plus a slow cooker/frying thingy which we could take to the caravan so seemed sensible to combine with one unit. There was an advert yesterday for one of those kenwood mixer things. Reduced to five hundred and odd quid in the black friday deals. WTF!!!
heyho Reggie_Perrin I looked at those, it’s a lot of money and we wouldn’t use it any differently to a slow cooker. it's a good point you make. I am astounded by the price that seems quite acceptable to pay for some stuff. £350+ for a Dyson hairdryer or straighteners etc etc I like latte coffee and have one of those Tassimo machines. Cost me £40 I think in a promotion. Thought I'd look at how much a bean to cup coffee maker was. The review I read showed the best at being 'inexpensive'. It was £500. I will stick to spoon from jar to cup I think.
heyho Bod Anyone used those Air Fryers, I’ve heard they are very good, and do great fried chicken Ours is an old one and we only really do potato wedges in it. Nice though especially if you leave the potatoes in water for a while then coat them in spices.
space Bod Air fryers are great for cooking meat quickly that can otherwise go dry in an oven - chicken etc. If you get a big one they are ace for cooking whole chickens.
