Yeltsin's capitalist shock backed by the US but with absolutely no control or regulation allowed corruption, fraud and greed to run absolute riot - oligarchs making an absolute killing everywhere, all at the expense of the normal russian peasant. There was help but it was the wrong kind of help - the last thing you need are cunts like KPMG or Anderson or a host of other chancers and 'business consultants' advising you on how to run a national economy when all they interested in is making as much money as possible by whatever means necessary. Utter cunts.
