OK, the setup is that it's Victorian London and something weird has happened and (mostly) women start developing super powers. It sounds like it's going to be another one of those fucking superhero things only with chicks in olden times, but this is the newest thing from Joss Whedon and it kind of works. It starts out a bit like a PG rated steampunk version of Penny Dreadful but evolves into a thumping bit of proper science fiction. And (small spoiler alert) a lovely surprise guest role for Farscape's Claudia Black towards the end, just for all the nerds among us.
If you've ran out of box sets to watch you could do worse than to give it a go.
