Reggie, see my Yamaha MusicCast speakers as Amazon Echo's. Similar deal, just a different sound. I was tempted by Sonos but the Soundbar isn't Dolby Atmos. It's 5.1.
Connecting your speakers to a TV, a smart TV, will give you a better sound because the speakers in TV these days don't have much cabinet to work with - you need to be moving air with speakers.
Do you have a Smart TV in that it can connect to your internet? The Sonos soundbar is a speaker in a different orientation - landscape rather than portrait. The sound information coming from your TV is much better than listening to a TV. You'll need to research HDMI ARC - audio return channel.
Re linking 4 together, you won't get quad sound, you'll get 4 x the same sound that comes out of the Echo's. I don't have Echo's but you should watch this;
Now, if you are into this kind of thing, I would urge you to buy better Alexa enabled speakers than the Echo, and many of them are.
I think you need a soundbar and 2 other speakers linked to it (as a room).
