I'm going to fill that back wall with shelving for more CDs and vinyl. Just need to work out what I do with the turntable lid when I raise it (shelving wise).

I play with the lid down but I could always pop it off its hinges and put to the side.

We're sorting the last room in the house in terms of getting it how we want stuff. It was the Mrs that suggested getting a system for in there (she knew I was after one at the old house).
Perfect room for it really. Bit of a den with some beautiful French doors that lead into a sun room. We had some tan leather banquet seating put in there. It's got another set of doors out to the back of the house.
She's found another Austinsuite cabinet to put it on. Will look mint if we can get it.
I'll have a look at the stuff you suggested. Be a nice moment when we finally play some of the old man's vinyl. Happy days.

It's a thin plinth, on spikes. the vibration is killed by bolting the frame to the wall.

Had all that ^^ malarkey back at the house in Leeds. Cantilevered wall shelf ( ? Audio Projects) with neoprene damping, custom machined alloy cones, with adjusters, for level, ( courtesy of engineer FiL) supporting the plinth. The kids could run riot near the turntable without any problem - not that they were encouraged to do so!

I've a Regar planar circa '93 up for sale at the moment. Hardly used and not at all for the last 28 years ish. Shame it's in Spain. Shipping it back would cost an arm and a leg thanks to Brexit.

Just bought the Rega System One. In budget, idiot-proof and rave reviews. As always, thanks for the advice gents.
The Mrs made me laugh last night "I know where this ends, you 'upgrading' every 6 months, talking about 'dynamics' and how 'expressive' your new speakers are". She know me well.....

A relatively inexpensive bolt on to that system Trav would be the Yamaha WXC50 streamer.

You'd download the MusicCast App and stream Tidal to it. It's small, can be placed on its side and would be in the colour range:

You can switch the pre-amp off. I've had one and it's in my 'keep' pile in the loft.
