Utility player who can play all over the field. My lasting memory is whenever he plays in central midfield, he usually scores.
I never rated him as a player. But how much he is respected in the clubhouse, with all the new faces, despite being sidelined for so long speaks volume. Cooper, Ayling and Him were the leadership core. To be fair, these are the guys that have achieved the most in their career in our squad. And next year they will all be gone. Ampadu Struijk will be the new tone setters.
If he had played this year, he probably would also have been slagged by some fans, like Cooper and Bamford.
Before Bielsa, we never really had a culture. But these players (Cooper, Ayling, Dallas) led the way, and I'll always be proud and thankful, that although they aren't the global superstar players, but on any given day, I could back this team against anybody.
And he also featured heavily in NIRE's resurgence on the international scene.
Hope he's fully recovered from the injury. Happy retirement, thanks for the memories, Cookstown Cafu!
