Jon more than likely Mourinho has turned him down, no other decent candidates so he's sticking with Farke.
I'm not fully convinced with Farke in the premier league but I do hope he proves me wrong, he does deserve a go

I'm not convinced either but I'm also not dismissive, mostly based on my piss poor footballing knowledge.

Or should they act like someone who has a shit load riding on this and make the decisions that give their investment the optimum chance of success.

It boils down to act like fans with an emotional buy in or act like investors with shed loads of cash riding on their next decision.

On an objective basis, Farke holds the record for the most consecutive Premier League defeats, at 15, though Norwich actually sacked him after he’d won a game. On a human level, I think we’ve done exactly the right thing. Having said that, I can’t imagine he’ll be allowed much above 6 to 8 games if we’re not going near a point a game.

Not particularly happy about it, but he seems like a nice fella. Let's hope the transfer business is good. I'm sure the 49ers don't want us to go down and we are a different proposition to the teams who have gone up in the last two seasons. We shall see.

Agree. Pleased for him. The inference that his time at Norwich showed a lack of PL nous was always unfair given he had to work with a Championship team against PL veterans.
The summer signings showed clever thinking and planning as did the lack of signings in January (I was completely wrong about that one, mea culpa DF).
He has proven he can build a team with the character to overcome challenges and can drive each other to succeed. He's proven he can bring the right players in and maintain the stability. He knows better than anyone which positions need replacing/strengthening.
If they back him, he'll do just fine.
BTW, get Solomon. Boy is having the time of his life.

As for the Farke argument being settled; how do we account for all the shitting on our own doorstep if Farke then goes on to smash it? When will we see a pivot back to liking him? 16th, mid-table, European spot, 10 games unbeaten, or 5 points clear at the top? It'll never be enough for many, especially when they've tasted that PL Kool-Aid. I’m not a fanboy but I’m anti scratching at a wound that’s in the main healing. Thankfully, it looks like Farke can take the pelters and has the skin of a rhino. He can also motivate the team so they ignore the noise and bedwetting, so they don’t implode on public sentiment and things being “Leedsy.” Versus bringing in a massive ego merchant like Jose. Then we can revel in him throwing players under a bus when the shit hits the fan, whilst planning his exit. It's like Bielsa taught us nothing. The anti-Farke stance is similar to the anti-Bielsa one. It feels a bit like cutting your nose off to spite your face play. Stick it all on an unknown. Jose's Brian Clough moment, potentially? It’s how we wound up with Marsch FFS. Shit manager, trying to kill the old king week in week out. If you have a need to validate that you support a "massive club," by having a ‘big name’ why not get Trump on the phone, see if he fancies it..? Go full on ego-monster!

king_of_the_slums I didn't know the club had made a statement re Farke when posting the above.

For me there is no target Farke needs to achieve, he could do a great job and still finish 18th.

He learnt some lessons from last season which made a difference this season, ie when drawing a game we didn't end up with seven forwards on the pitch.

I hope he will change our set up, make us a bit more resilient.

The biggest question now is recruitment, do we go for it all guns blazing, or do we recruit with a strategy that protects us should we be relegated.

Anyway, my boy; won two awards, tried his best in English, was derided by most as an underwhelming signing at the start of the season. Be careful what you wish for, it's gonna be alright!

Either strategy is a gamble but the owners seem to be indicating on going for it.

Foxy_Dread Parag has said he's going to spend every single legal penny he can to keep us in the PL, he reckons we have more money than he can legally spend, also that all shareholders have agreed to not take a dividend as this is only stage one. Doesn't go into any more details, could be all talk. But sound like they'll invest to stay in the league (stage 2) and then get into Europe (stage 3) - stage 4 is probably a sell off, unless we become the next Man U. I am assuming the data team and Farke have agreed to work together. Agree he needs to adapt to the prem, tweaks need to be made. Don't think they'll be looking at a yo-yo strategy of a team full of Jack Clarkes. We have them already in the main. Let's look at what's in the kitty. But Farke won't be picking players, he'll be given options based on where the gaps / risks / weaknesses are.
