Thought about this since it broke. On a practical point of view, what's this going to achieve? If it's Marsch (or anyone), what'll they do different to change results - sure, more negative, emphasis at shipping goals but will they really know the squad? , English football, opposition? Doubt it.
Bielsa? He's changed the whole persona of the club. Great to watch. A lot of people's second club. Turning 'nobodies' into internationals. More importantly, a club into a club that values dignity, honesty, humbleness, kindness in a world that's obsessed by money, obsessed by winning. Sure, he's stubborn and set in his ways - I'd have started with Cresswell and Gelhardt yesterday, but doesn't change my opinion that he's just behind Revie, with Wilko as an all time great.
Yet Radz has not understood that. I like Radz, think he's got the club at heart, but this is a tremendous gamble. If we stay up, he'll feel justified, if we go down and, indirectly, he'll blame MB.
Marcelo Bielsa put us in the Premier league after 16 years, playing great football and an understanding that football can have a link to modern day values we should adhere to.
I am gutted that he's gone, he earned the opportunity to put it right until the end of the season, relegation or not. Whoever comes in, needs to (very quickly) realise what work he has done both on and off the field.
Thank You St Marcelo.
