currieforengland In the board's defence I think their input into transfers was minimal; Bielsa called the shots mainly. The small squad was his doing, I imagine signing James when we had more pressing needs was down to him, he turned down Van de Beek* as a loan recently.
I think for the board it was a case of 'in Bielsa we trust' as much as it was for us - the PR disaster of Marcelo walking out due to board interference must have always been on their mind.
