90Piesanhour it was always like this tho - it's in our DNA. none of it makes much sense either however - on the working assumption that the owners want to maximise their investment return i cannot understand how they so recklessly gambled everything on not supplementing an already threadbare and physically struggling group of players. I mean i think we all knew that at some point that Ailing Dallas and Klich would revert to the mean. to leave a team with literally 1 full back available is fucking madness. no other club would do that. its basic. having then invested in the one bloke who could somehow practice some form of paranormal alchemy on the players to yield consistent overperformance we get rid of him and now the team looks as if it was swimming naked all along but that the tide has gone out. once again i have fallen for the assumption of believing that those running football clubs know more than we do but it turns out that they have terrible judgment too. i am sure the manager will be good for us one day but not with this team who look traumatised, scarred and shot by the events of the last 5 weeks. maybe cooper's return will galvanise some sort of getting up off the canvas mentality but what i saw on Thursday night was a tentative, meek group of confused men with no means of executing a basic plan. most of us have lived through 2 relegations and this feels the same - and we don't even have Jasper this time!

Flaneur aye the keeper is nowhere near the finished product yet but he might one day be excellent - not that we will see it mind at this rate. no experienced keeping back up is another example of the wild recklessness which permeates decision-making at our club.

currieforengland In the board's defence I think their input into transfers was minimal; Bielsa called the shots mainly. The small squad was his doing, I imagine signing James when we had more pressing needs was down to him, he turned down Van de Beek* as a loan recently.

I think for the board it was a case of 'in Bielsa we trust' as much as it was for us - the PR disaster of Marcelo walking out due to board interference must have always been on their mind.
