I would hope that the middle pair in the 4222 aren't light weight converted attackers/wide men, surely they should be proper midfield players who make meaningful contributions at both ends of the pitch. O'Brien at Huddersfield looks made for the job.

Foxy_Dread Exactly. I'm sure I read it at one time he would be the biggest transfer in football if he left the scum, so he's never going to come to us. The lad from Blackburn I think is an option and in our price range. I also think there are still some bargains out there still in Europe, but that's Orta's job to find them, and we all know how that pans out most of the time.

If signing a forward I'd go with Brereton Diaz. 22 goals in 34 games last season, from XG of 20. He scores all kinds of goals, looks to be a composed, tidy finisher, accuracy over power. He would be a max of 30m. He's 23yo.

Brentford would not want to sell Toney he'd cost more and is 26. Wages would be higher.
