Jon Not knowing much about the Cocteau Twins hasn’t diminished my enjoyment of In One Ear. Just up to the bit where they’ve started the Bella Union record label.
Anchor I'm reading Bodies by Jed Murcurio (him who did Line of Duty). It's a medical whistle blowing novel. In the mould of that Adam Kay book but preceded it by 15 years. It is very good.
Kevin_Stapleton Anchor Waterstones online I think, it's not that easy to get hold of. The Cuban Club is one collection that's published in it's own right, Roy's Story collates everything that he published in this style.
Under-the-ground David downing. Zoo station. Spy shenanigans in Germany before ww2. Another charity shop job. Decent enough
Jon fulmine I only started it last night and fell asleep reading it. Every bit as good as Ladies And Gentlemen so far. One of those books I don’t want to put down. Bonfire Of The Vanities needs a reread soon.
Anchor Under-the-ground it's a series. I've read them all. Enjoyed. You may also like the swiss spy books. They have an interesting character.
fulmine Jon Yeah, always meant to read "Devil's Candy", the book about the making of the film. That and "You'll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again". I'm sure both are easy enough to get hold of online. Will add to the list.
Anchor I recommend this highly. Hugely readable and as grim as fuck and funny in equal measures. I'm never going to a hospital again. I wonder what he thinks of Adam Kay.
l.q.navarro. CBIT Didn't they make that into a film in the 90s ? Loosely based on the Shankhill butchers ?
