Another charity shop lucky dip. Not bad. One of his better ones. Came across as a bit Coldplay guys sometimes but was ok to pass the time. So not a waste of time. The first but is really good tbf.

Under-the-ground I started reading one of his when it's a mediation on life after he tried to top himself. I didn't finish it.

Two books done over the last week.

One about the ship the Essex a whaling ship where they ate the crew members. Apparently Moby Dick was based on it. Decent . They were tough in those days.

Paul Harding Enon. A charity shop special again. I liked this. His daughter dies and he falls apart. Based in Maine. Seemed to partner the Jon McGegor one even the dogs some how. Recommended anyway

Just finished this.

Enjoyed it. I would though as I'm an unadulterated fan boy.

Set entirely in the US with multi generational points of views from both genders.

Lot of Gen Z slang which i had to look up but feel better for it. No cap.

So a thriller and a rail against trump and late stage capitalism. He also leaves us with a dystopian ending that teases a prequel.

I'm reading/listening to "Finger Smith" by Sarah Waters as part of a book club.

First 10 chapters were pretty boring, few twists and turns but then explodes into graphic sexual content about two women. Don't think that's enough to make it a good book for me.

Problem with these book clubs are that the book choices are not your own..

No off switch - Andy Kershaw memoir. It's a fine line between being a straight talking enthusiast and an opiniated bore, and he frequently strays over it.

Just done the new Suede book As One.

I was never going to not like it. They are my favourite group. Thought it was well done in general. The bits I liked where the amount of effort and re work of stuff they do. I just thought they just walk in songs on the guitar first time, job done. But the opposite, also the blue hour was seen by the band as not landing . Which is crazy. It’s the second best album they have done I think. And some of the band were non plussed about the end of Flytipping. It make my heart stop.
All in all a good bio
