CBIT I remember reading a wedding present book years ago, "thank yer very glad" I think it was called and that was a good read, loads of bits about royal park and early 80's,so might have a look at this. Cheers

Fell asleep listening to the JCC audiobook. It's a nightmare trying to backtrack.

otis Yes - I thought it was the shit - don't expect the lyricism of Welsh but more a classic novel. However expect grit and emotion. Deserved winner of the Booker prize.

Not my normal thing - birthday present - but it’s well written and bloody fascinating.

fulmine I read Sugg’s book and found it underwhelming, a bit of a let down. I’m sure he’s had a really amazing life but they didn’t capture it for me.

Jon Yeah, he’s not the most interesting character in this book, that’s for sure. Possibly because he doesn’t seem too ready to admit to any great flaws, I don’t know. Cathal Smyth (Chas Smash), Chris Foreman, Lee Thompson, Mike Barson have some great stories to tell. Smyth especially.
