Bed: Shock and Awe - Glam Rock and its Legacy, Simon Reynolds. 900+ pages but a great read. Comes across a bit PHD thesis, particularly on Bowie and Roxy (‘high glam’ apparently ) and I could have done with more on the likes of The Sweet, Slade et al. But he writes well and knows his onions. Made me want to explore Gry Gltt*r’s music to see what was going on sonically.
Bog: A Cheesemonger’s History of Great Britain. Surprisingly readable and full of nuggets of British social history.
