Anchor Rudi Thanks Rudi. What is Glsmourous Hooligans actual name? It's not Dean Kavanagh is it? I'll point him in the direction of the Kelman book. Not sure he's seen that. It seems every turn he finds more and more stuff. I've mentioned your name to him and he says 'thanks' and will reach out if it seems it will be useful. Thank you
Anchor Kevin_Stapleton enjoying it. Some proper lols. I've only read his stories in Ahead of Its Time which is...er....experimental. in the main.
Kevin_Stapleton Kevin_Stapleton Iron Annie - Luke Cassidy. Crime and misdemeanours in Dundalk. A cracking read 👍 Book of the year already. @Anchor - reckon this’d be right up your street, so it would.
Anchor Added to the list, to be sure. Did you get Bucket of Tongues? Thoroughly enjoyed. Particularly the Walker story. I was rapt. Interested to see what you think. Written early 90s and depressingly precient now.
Jon Chronicles Vol 1 - Bob Dylan. Read it when it first came out. Bought a copy to replace one loaned out ages ago. I love Dylan’s choice of words, his flow. It’s disjointed and wildly entertaining: He puts you in the middle of things, paints great pictures. I wish he’d followed it up with more volumes. Perfect train commute fodder.
Anchor cordshoes Brilliant. Very funny. He does that Milliganeese well. Took a while to get Bob out me head but rattled through it. Nearly done.
Under-the-ground Just finished the count of monte cristo. Christ it is a brute of a book, but what a story. Some of the passages are stunning. The bit where he is in prison & he is learning is excellent. It dips two thirds in, but comes out in the end. Wait & hope. Recommended.
white_dragon 2nd one of his I've read . Denzil Meyrick, For Any Other Truth. Some reason picture won't post. Enjoyed both, would recommend.
