Under-the-ground I don’t know much about REM. I had a mate who was really into them before they made it big but I couldn’t see the appeal. The year I met my wife was a great summer, we’d all end up at her mate’s house where Out Of Time, Fisherman’s Blues, Goodbye Jumbo and that Crowded House album always seemed to be on in the background on a Sunday morning. Happy times.
I really like Automatic For The People, it’s a great late night album, and of late Monster has grown on me. I’ve never felt any desire to delve deeper than those albums. His voice can get on my tits at times.
