Under-the-ground Eight Legged Groove Machine is a class album that has stood up well.
I was looking at a Miles Hunt post on Instagram today - he posted a concert postr for a gig in Paris in 1991
The Wonderstuff
Carter USM
Nine Inch nails
What a crazy line up.
I saw them at Brixton in 1991 and Jane's Addiction supported them. How they managed to lure these bands over. Ace.
Anyway - I listened to Vent 414 at the time and remember thinking it was awful - remember it was a bit of a super group. I think I was a bit to much of a Wonderstuff fan boy to accept them in my life.
They are recording a new album - he's been posting about that on insta as well.
I met him in a pub in Shropshire a year or so ago. Ended up chatting and was surprisingly OK and pretty passionate about life. He lived in areas of the Black Country my wife grew up in. He lived in a place called Colley Gate with Clint out of the Poppies and in particular Tan House flats. They were very rough and had huge social economic issues and intravenous drugs were a massive problem. My wife asked him if he ever drank in the Beef (local pub - obvs) to which he replied with some some conviction - Nooooo - it was far too rough. Ha ha ha ha - made me chuckle.
He moved to the more gentrified Stourbridge not long after and the rest is history.
